Drake remained silent for as long as he could.
The Canadian rapper decided to address Meek Mill’s claims that he doesn’t write his own lyrics the best way he knows how–threw a song. During Drake’s OVO Sound Radio show on Beats 1 on Saturday, Drizzy addressed the controversy on a new song called Charged Up.
Drake fires back at Meek following his claims that Quentin Miller ghost wrote his verse on R.I.C.O. Drake raps, “I’m honored that you think this is staged, I’m flattered, man / In fact, I’m amazed … You boys are getting into your feelings on me / You should embrace it, this could be one of our realest moments.”
He swears off features (“Done doing favors for people / ‘Cause it ain’t like I need the money I make off a feature”) and takes shots at Meek’s sales (“I see you ni**as having trouble going gold / Turning into some so-and-sos that no one knows”).
Drake also brings Meek’s girlfriend and labelmate Nicki Minaj into the feud. (“No woman ever had me starstruck or was able to tell me to get my bars up”) and chides Meek for his pettiness (“Cops are killin’ people with their arms up / And your main focus is tryna harm us”).
It didn’t take long for Meek to respond to Drake’ssong.
Meek Mill wrote on Twitter, “Baby lotion soft… I can tell he wrote that 1 tho.”

Meek also had some harsh words for Drake when he opened for Nicki Minaj at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Sunday.
“I was doing my album. And I asked the nigga to give me a verse for my album,” Meek told the Brooklyn audience, pacing back and forth onstage. “The nigga gave me a verse for my album. But he gave me a verse that he didn’t write that another nigga wrote. Where I come from, I represent the motherfucking game. I represent the motherfucking streets. If you ain’t with me, you ain’t gotta act like you with me, I got the motherfucking streets with me for life!”
